Dr. Lola Mae Capps Hambrick went to her savior and heavenly home on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was born May 19, 1940 in Sallisaw Oklahoma to Geneva Lucas and Luther Capps. Lola was a registered nurse as well as a teacher of nursing, and a hospital administrator at Norman Regional Hospital. She received her Master of Liberal Arts at Oklahoma City University and received a Doctorate of Christian Counseling at American Christian College and Seminary. In addition, she developed a program that empowered young single mothers at the Baptist Children's Home. She spent her life helping the most vulnerable especially women and children based in part because of the love and support the Baptist Children's Home provided her when she was a child.

She had children in every way a mother can have a child. She first became a mother to Margaret when she married Dr. Rev. Fred Hambrick, a divorced single father who had a three year-old daughter. Then she and Fred adopted a baby son, Wade and soon she discovered that she was pregnant with a child with Fred, who they named Allen. Finally, they worked as house parents at the Baptist Children's Home in Oklahoma City, where they then fostered many children but brought Greta into their nuclear family. One of the great joys of Lola's life was singing beautiful duets in church with Fred which reflected their love for God as well as their love for each other.

She is survived by her three remaining children: Dr. Mary Margaret Hambrick of Ft Myers Florida, Greta Beaver of Coweta, Oklahoma, and Allen Hambrick and wife Ginger of Eugene, Oregon. Lola is also survived by her son Wade's wife, Tammy Winkler, and their four children and two grandchildren. Finally, she is also survived and incredibly proud of her two grandchildren, Emory Cavin of Ft Myers, Florida and Fern Hambrick of Eugene, Oregon. She is proceeded to heaven by her husband of 56 years, Dr. Rev. Fred Hambrick and her son, Wade Hambrick. Lola Hambrick was a beloved role model to her family and to many others.

Viewing will take place at John Ireland and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, November 7, 2021, between 1:30-9pm. Her life can be celebrated at services on Monday, November 8th at 10 am at John Ireland and Son Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore Oklahoma and interment following.
