Gretchen Sue (Bell) Newman, age 85, of Frisco, Texas, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. She was born on October 4, 1936, in Nocona, Texas, to Corinne (Admire) and Roy Bell. Gretchen obtained her associate degree and worked as a medical transcriber. Gretchen was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her.
Gretchen is survived by her children, Terry Lessard and his wife, Kimberly, of Delray, Florida, and Julie Mitchum and her husband, Edward, of Charleston, South Carolina; and her grandchildren, Isabella Lessard, Abigail Lessard, Capt. Ehron Mitchum, Peyton Mitchum, Nicholas Rivera, and Jacob Stroud.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Newman, her daughter, Lori Stroud, and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas, on Friday, August 12, 2022, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation beginning one hour prior at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Mountain Park Cemetery in St. Jo, Texas at 2:00 PM.
