Bro. W. P. Dennis conducted final rites for Fred Armstrong, lifetime resident of the Panhandle, which were held from Central Church of Christ on Saturday afternoon. Mr. Armstrong died on Thursday morning at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo, following a two months illness. Mr. Armstrong was the son of pioneer Panhandle residents. He was born in Swisher County February 11, 1893. He was engaged in farming near Tulia until about a year ago when he moved to Amarillo. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Church of Christ. A military service was held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Wallace Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, ACHSA ARMSTRONG, two daughters, Mrs. Frances Lepine, Norfolk, VA and Mrs. Jean Hood, Tulia; three granddaughters; four sisters, Mrs. Viola Loftin and Mrs. LuLu Ward, both of Tulia, Mrs. Eva Curb, Canyon and Mrs. Ethel McCasland, Clovis, NM and two brothers, Bill Armstrong of Happy and Harrison Armstrong, Ft. Sumner, NM.
