Agnes E. Turchin of Pine Island, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at The Valley View Center, Goshen. She was 82.
The daughter of the late Leo & Catherine Sumara Shunowski, she was born on August 17, 1925. She was a Member of St. Stanislaus Church and the Pine Island Legion Ladies Auxiliary Chapter #16, both in Pine Island.
She is survived by a daughter, Rose Colon and husband, Feliciano of Westtown; two grandchildren, John and Susie Colon; two sisters, Frances Shunowski of Middletown, Bernice Custard of Chester; two brothers, Raymond Shunowski and wife, Marion of Kansas City, Missouri; Louis Shunowski of Cuddebackville; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, John Turchin; son, Michael John Turchin; brother, Leo Shunoski.
Friends may call on Monday, January 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at T.S. Purta Funeral Home, 690 County Route#1, Pine Island, NY 10969. PLAV Ladies Auxiliary services will be held Monday, January 21, afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, at St. Stanislaus Church, Pine Island, NY. Interment will be St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Pine Island, NY.
