Calvin G. Snider, A retired Katy employee and resident of Parsons more than 30 years, died in Shawnee Okla., Saturday after a long period of failing health.
Snider was born at McAlester, Okla., on Feb. 18, 1888. He was married on July 19, 1913 to Julia Lee Bottom [sic] and they made their home here until her death in August of 1954. Snider then moved to Tecumseh Okla., to make his home with a niece, Mrs. Thelma Chamblin, who survives.
He leaves a brother, Andrew Snider, Mansfield, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Thompson, Dallas, and Mrs. Lillie Marlnee, Pryor, Okla.; and a nephew David Snider, 1207 Appleton, Parsons.
The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 pm in the Carson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Don Bumgarner presiding. Interment followed in Springhill cemetery.
