Mass in Our Lady of Victor Church. Interment in New Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangments by Howard H. Hubbard Funeral Home.

A mass of the resurrection for ANTHONY J. PALMISANO, a familiar figure at his retail fruit stall in the Hollins Market for 70 years, will be offered tomorrow in Our Lady of Victory Church. Mr. Palmisano, who was 87, died unexpectedly Monday at Bon Secours Hospital. For the past 47 years he had resided at 1423 West Lombard Street. His wife, the former Carmella Palmisano, died in 1954.

Born in Palermo, Italy, he came to Baltimore in 1880 with his father. In 1896 at the age of 12, he began working in the family fruit and vegetable business at Hollins market, selling produce piled on the coblestones at their outdoor stall.

In 1925, on the death of their father, Mr. Palmisano and his brother, Frank, took over the stall. During the ensuring decades the Hollins Market changed, the old gas lights were replaced, the stalls moved indoors and the sellers no longer remained opened until midnight. ....
