Permelia Upsaw was the child of Captain Leroy Upshaw and his second wife, Milly (Scott) Upshaw. She was married 25 Dec 1823 in Carter Co, Tennessee, to Andrew Bradley, with whom she had issue. They eventually settled in Monroe County, Tennessee. Following Andrew Bradley's death, she was married 16 Jun 1852 in Monroe County, to Jesse Rhea (1778-1859), a widower.
