Mercy's grandparents, Benjamin James and Mercy (Stockbridge), lived in a large Colonial overlooking the North River, which was renovated, placed on the National Historic Register, and is now the Maritime & Irish Mossing Museum on Driftway Road, Greenbush (Scituate), MA. Their property included this James-Clapp Cemetery, originally called the James Burying Ground.
