Mrs. Parks was born on July 20th, 1931 in Gilmer County to the late Philip Mealer and Lola Turner Mealer. Mrs. Parks worked at Shaw Textile Mill at was a member of the Burnt Mountain Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Parks; five sisters, Mae Reece, Esther Holbert, Winnie Fowler, Ila Woody, and Bessie Mealer, and four brothers, Robert Mealer, Glenn Mealer, Roy Mealer, and Clarence Mealer.
