Rosary was prayed on Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Duesman Funeral Home.
The Rev. Emmanuel Beunen, OFM, officiated at the 10a.m. funeral Mass and at the graveside at St. Francis Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews, Victor Ludden, Roy Pieke, Dale Schumacher, Donald Ternus Leonard Bender and Leroy Schumacher.
Daniel Adam Bender, son of Peter Bender and Katherine (Tholen) Bender, was born on Deceber 6, 1896 at Cornlea, NE. He received his education in the Cornlea School and later followed the occupation of farming
He was married to Josephine Kramper on March 2, 1946 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cornlea. Following their marriage they continued to farm in the Cornlea area until 1966 when they moved to Humphrey to make their home.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine; two daughters, Maxine and Marsha, at home, two sisters Mrs. Franak (Margaret) Schumacher of Platte Center, NE. Mrs. Matt (Nellie) Schumacher of Lindsay; one brother, John L. Bender of Omaha, one half-brother, Edward J. Bender of Cornlea.
He was preceded in death by his parentsl three half-brothers, Charles, George, and William Bender; three half-sisters, Mrs. John (Emma) Ternus, Mrs Chester (Anna) Waegli, Mrs. Conrad (Matilda) Hittner. Friends and relatives in attendance at the services were from Omaha, Lincoln, Clarks, Columbus, Cornlea, Lindsay, Flatte Center, Elgin, Shelby, York, Madison, Newman Grove, NE
