Frances Laverne Meriwether
November 26, 1927 – April 15, 2022

Frances LaVerne Meriwether born in Indianapolis Indiana Saturday November 26th, 1927, to the Union of Allen and Theresa Alexander. She was the second born eldest daughter of four. She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School in 1945. She worked for Chrysler for eighteen ½ years before she retired from Gardner and White Insurance company in 2004 at the age of 76.

Frances loved to shop, cook, bake, tend to her yard and garden pruning and planting her favorite flowers Tulips and Roses. She was known for her strong personality, independence, and sense of humor. Behind that personality was a smile and laugh that was infectious we will always honor and cherish that. She was the only one who could make you laugh and cry at the same time with her advice, opinion, and stern words. Frances spoke straight from the shoulder she didn't pull any punches "What she said was what she said" and how you received it was on you! Frances Loved the Lord with her whole heart, she dedicated her life at the age of forty-four and never looked back. She was a member "Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church" under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Thomas Griffith.

Frances "Granny"," Nai Nai," "Sissy" "Panky Wanky" LaVerne Meriwether was blessed to live 94 years as a mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great grandmother, Sister, and Aunt. "Granny Poo's last words 3 minutes before she departed on April 15th, 2022 @ 2:51 p.m. in Louisiana, were "I gotta get up! pick up and clean up, I gotta go! She knew exactly what time it was. Like herself she had a plan, time and destination, She slipped away peaceful.

Frances is proceeded in death by a brother, Father Allen "Pa" Alexander, Mother Theresa "Mam Ma" Alexander, Eldest son Alfred Young Jr "Junnie," and three husbands. In her own words "Each husband left me a souvenir" which were her 3 children Alfred, Anthony, and April A.K.A "Triple A".

Frances leaves to cherish memories 1 sister Juanita "sissy" Hayes, 1 brother Allen "Booky" "Water head" Alexander, 1 god daughter Sharon" Baboo" Hooten of Indianapolis Indiana, 1 son Anthony Ryan (Maryland) 1 daughter April (Eric) Neal of Nevada. 6 Grand children Eric (Lillian) Young of California Kyra "Baby girl" (Joseph) Pete of Louisiana, Alfred Young lll" Tra" (Gailonda) of Ohio, Yoshani Ryan (Maryland) Jared Ryan (Delaware) Ryan "Pumpkin" Neal (Nevada) 9 Great Grandchildren Mason Iam (Maryland) Marquis Ursery, Joseph jr, Deanna Pete, Aleigha Pete, Tra'Shawn Young, Jeremiah Pete, Erianna Pete, Samiyah Pete. 3 Great-Great grandchildren Major Ursery, Del'Angel Kyra Ursery, Kit Pete of Louisiana.

Funeral services will be held (1:00pm) (Friday) (April 29th, 2022) at (Crown Hill funeral) with the (Suffragan Bishop Thomas Griffith) of (Zion Tabernacle Apostolic Church), officiating. Burial will follow at (Crown Hill cemetery). Arrangements are by (Crown Hill f funeral home).

The family of (Frances Meriwether) wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr Cadwallader, Dr Aertker, and Dr Sabbaghian, the nurses and nurses assistants of Acadian Extended Care hospital and Acadiana Medical center, special thanks Deanna Pete, Mona Allison, Gabriella Juarez, Shante Cooper who were her personal caretakers, Baboo, Onyette Hamiter, Ebony Toles and the family of Unity Family Worship Center for the extra Love and Support.
