Andrew Sylvester 'Sylvan' Fayard was the son of Alexis Fayard and Martha Ryan, from the Fayard and Ryan Pioneers of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Alexis Fayard father of Andrew Sylvester Fayard was the son of Louis Fayard who settled in Biloxi, Mississippi in the 1700's.

Andrew Sylvester 'Sylvan' Fayard was born at Oaklawn on the old plantation homestead of his parents in the Woolmarket Community which was located south and east of 1~10 Woolmarket Exit, Harrison County, Biloxi, Mississippi, on the Tchoutibouffa River.

His parents had 6 sons that went to serve in the Civil War (1861~1865) and only two sons survived the war. They served for the Confederate States of America. After the Civil War only Louis Fayard (Father of the noted Rev. Louis Fayard) and Andrew Sylvester 'Sylvan' Fayard came home. At the age 50 Andrew married Mary Ann Rushing, who was born with a club foot according to my Grandfather and Together they raised the following Children:
