ABBEVILLE. . .Donald Craig "Donny" Deaton, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday morning, July 25, 2022, in the USA Health University Hospital in Mobile. He was 64.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the Holman-Abbeville Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Jud Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery-East. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Safe Haven Animal Rescue Kennels, P. O. Box 126, Abbeville, AL 36310.

Donny Deaton was born in Chicago, Illinois and was raised in Abbeville. He served his country in the U. S. Army for seven years. Donny was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was retired from James Elliott Construction Company as a carpenter. Donny was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beatrice Deaton.

Surviving relatives include his wife, two daughters, two sons, three brothers, ten grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, and a brother-in-law.
