Deloris was born on June 18, 1929 in Pandora to the late Elmer and Emma (Vermillion) Baumgartner. She married Eugene (Pete) Hermon on November 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death June 15, 2004.
Deloris has been a member of Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren since 1961, where she served in many ministries through the years. She was a banquet server for many years at Best Western and retired from Bath Schools cafeteria. She was a member of Bluffton Senior Center and Lima Senior Center.
She is survived by her children, Ann (James) Shellaberger, Mary Cavanaugh, Gene (Alaina) Hermon, and son-in-law Harold (Wayne) Bohyer, all of Lima; grandchildren, Benjamin (Diana) Shellaberger, Dave Shellaberger, Duaine (Jennifer) Cavanaugh, Andrew (Audrey) Cavanaugh, Rob (Katie) Ricker, Nathan and Brandon Myers; 2 brothers, Dwight (Irene) Baumgartner, and Edward Baumgartner; a sister, Mary Hoffsteter; and a sister-in-law Marlene Baumgartner.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Bohyer; son-in-law Everett Cavanaugh; brother James Baumgartner; sister, Kathryn Hermon; sister-in-law Patricia Baumgartner; and a grandson, Ryan Ricker.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday August 1, 2022 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, Lima, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Mike Huffaker will officiate. Burial will follow at Sugar Creek Cemetery, Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren.
