"Aged 51 yr." - Taken from tombstone.

John Pincock and his wife Mary Joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Later day Saints in England. They came to America to participate in the gathering. At the time LDS people were gathering in Nauvoo, Illinois. They came to America on the ship Sheffield in February of 1841. John was 45 years old and a Farmer and his wife Mary was 47 years old and a Weaver. (note-ages on immigration record conflict with the ages on the grave stone) John and Mary brought with them six unmarried children, but John and Mary had 9 Children that I have record of. They traveled with a daughter Ellen Pincock Bennett and her husband James Bennett. Ellen and James brought 4 children (4 grandchildren to John and Mary).
There was a malaria epidemic in Nauvoo at about the time of these deaths. so possible cause of death could be malaria or ague.
This Grave stone is a new marker placed after 1990. The 1990 survey found the original marker broken and unreadable. Information was taken from a previous survey and a new marker made.
