Annabelle Brandt Boren, born Oct. 3, 1940, died Jan. 19, 2008, born in Gusher, the daughter of Dorothy Anderson Brandt and James Claren Brandt.

Anna was married to Delmore Atwood and divorced in 1961. Two children were born, Dana Lee Atwood Coop and Frank Atwood. Anna lived in Utah most of her life.

She was a cook most of her life. Anna owned a restaurant in Manila, she also was a bartender. She also worked as a dietician at Doxie Hatch Medical Center. Anna became disabled in 1990, she loved to cook and experiment with recipes, crochet, listen to country music and spending time with her family and great grandson who was the "apple of her eye." Anna was also an avid Jazz fan, and very seldom missed watching a game.

Anna was born and raised as LDS, she was baptized in Ballard at the age of 8.

Anna is preceded in death by son, Ray Del Atwood; brother, Eldrith Brandt; and three sisters, Lula Jones, Lola Edrington and Clarrene Hemphill; two nieces, Darlene Roy and JoAnn Cawalader; and one nephew, Craig Jones.

Anna is survived by a daughter, Dana Lee Atwood and Coop (George); granddaughter, Lynnette Coop; and one great-grandson, Jackie D. Coop; one son, Frank Atwood; five sisters, Mary (Bert) Cawalader, Lydia (Ray) Rust, Lila Bristol, Jennie (Ray) Edrington and Eva Brandt; and one brother, Claren (Judy) Brandt.

Funeral services are at the Thompson Blackburn Mortuary in Vernal on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. Family and friends may call Wednesday, Jan. 23, between 6 and 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the services. Burial will take place at the Tridel Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
