EAST OOLITIC — Icey M. Crane, 77, of East Oolitic, went to be with the Lord on Thursday at the Bedford Regional Medical Center.

She was born on June 13, 1930, in Liberty, Ky., to William and Mary (Wall) Gilpin. She married Charles J. Crane on March 5, 1949, in Paoli, and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1992.

She was a devoted mother, homemaker, and a member of the East Oolitic Community Church. She was a friend to all and loved by everyone who knew her. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed life and visiting relatives in Kentucky, Iowa and Ohio, especially Anna Mae, Virgie, Jewel and Iva D.

Survivors include one sister, Iva D. Mundy of Cincinnati, Ohio; four children, Carolyn M. Banks of Bloomington, Betty L. Baker of Springville, Charles L. Crane of Bedford and Dave R. Crane of Bloomington; eight grandchildren, Troy A. Baker, Angela Hofman, Trisha Parker, Melissa Crane, Matthew Crane, Jared Crane, Shelby Crane and Amanda Crane; and 10 great-grandchildren, Drew, Evan and Cole Baker, Abigail and Audrey Parker, Kinsley Shumacher, Bryant, Haylie, Emma and Ethan Crane.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Millard Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens.
