He was an accomplished systems engineer at Comcast Business and worked in the communications industry most his adult life. He earned a bachelor's degree from Rollins College in Florida after he completed nuclear power school in the Navy and served on the James Madison (SSBN-627). He was single, having never married, and was an only child. His parents, Bobbi Jo and Ab Jerry Dear Sr. preceded him in death. He will have a military memorial service at Ft. Logan on April 28, 2022, at 11:15 AM. Donations should go to any animal shelter as he was an advocate for the humane treatment of animals.
