On February 24, 2022, Ab "Jerry" Dear Jr. succumbed to respiratory failure at the Medical Center of Aurora. He was an accomplished systems engineer at Comcast Business and worked in the communications industry most his adult life. He earned a bachelor's degree from Rollins College in Florida after he completed nuclear power school in the Navy and served on the James Madison (SSBN-627). He was single, having never married, and was an only child. His parents, Bobbi Jo and Ab Jerry Dear Sr. preceded him in death. He will have a military memorial service at Ft. Logan on April 28, 2022, at 11:15 AM. Donations should go to any animal shelter as he was an advocate for the humane treatment of animals.
