Son of Johanna "Anna" Marie Madsdatter and Theodor Jürgensen Rudebeck, of Lojt,Aabenraa-Sonderborg,Denmark; two of his brothers, Carl Theodor and Johannes "John" Jurgensen Rudebeck stayed in Denmark while Theodor and his brother Severin immigrated to Iowa.

Theodore Jacob Rudebeck married Mary Marie Mette Mork, daughter of Hans and Magdalena "Lena" Mork, March 18,1887,Cedar Falls, Black Hawk County,Iowa. Their children:Johanna Marie; Hans Jacob;Karl "Charlie"Theodore;Dagmar Louise; Amelia "Biney" Caroline.

His family was from Lojt Aabenraa-Sonderborg, Denmark, an area that was alternately ruled by Denmark and then Prussia or Germany. He left there to escape forced enlistment in the German army.

Obituary: ARTICLE IN CEDAR FALLS DAILY RECORD FEBRUARY 2, 1926, FRONT PAGE:"THEO RUDEBECK DIED WHILE ON VISIT IN MINN"/Message to Relatives Here Says Funeral Party will Arrive Tomorrow...Theodore Rudebeck, 61, died yesterday at the home of a daughter at Clayton, Minnesota, where he had been visiting since last Fall, according to word received by relatives here. His health had been failing for two years. The message stated that the body would be returned here for interment, and that the funeral party would reach here Wednesday night. Pending arrival of the funeral party, local arrangements are held up. Mrs. Rudebeck was with her husband at Clayton when he died having accompanied him there to spend the winter visiting three daughters who reside in that vicinity.

Besides the widow and three daughters, there are two sons, Charles and Hans both of this city. The daughters are Mrs. Hannah Nelson, Mrs. Dama Durhoper (Dagmar Doerhoefer) and Mrs. Amelia Anderson all residing near Clayton, Minnesota.

Deceased was a native of Denmark, but came to America as a young man and had resided in and near this city for upwards of 40 years, first working as a farmhand and later engaging in business for himself.

CEDAR FALLS DAILY RECORD FEB 4, 1926 FRONT PAGE RUDEBECK FUNERAL FRIDAY AFTERNOON...Funeral services for Theodore Rudebeck who died early this week while on a visit to Clayton, Minnesota will be held at Dahls Funeral Chapel at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon. Rev. Oitt Nielsen, pastor to the Danish Nazareth Church will conduct the services. Burial will be made in the Greenwood cemetery. The funeral party with the remains arrived here from Clayton last night. Those accompanying the body included the widow and the three daughters.
