Chelan, July 15 – Cornelia Edith Rubin, 50, of Chelan died in the local hospital this morning after a long illness. Born in DePugh, Iowa, on August 7, 1899, she spent her early life around Hartline and Coulee City and taught school in Douglas County for a number of years. She also taught at Sunnyslope for two years and a number of years in Chelan schools. She came to Chelan in 1927 where she had since made her home.
Cornelia Edith Box was married on August 31, 1927 in Wenatchee to Carl J. Rubin. Mrs. Rubin was a member of the Chelan Christian church, the Cascade Rebekah lodge in Chelan and the Chelan Royal Neighbors.
Surviving besides her husband, are one son, Donald; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Burton of Wenatchee Mrs. Alzina Craig of Ephrata and two brothers, Dan Box of Seattle and Elmer Box of Zillah.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday. Smith Funeral Home is in charge.
