Born in Paterson, NJ, he was the son of the late Earl and Kathleen Smith Conklin. He was a graduate of Boonton High School, Boonton, NJ. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy, having served aboard the USS Boston during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an installer and mechanic for Automatic Door Sales and Service, Lansdale.
Surviving are three sons: William Conklin; Douglas Conklin; and Thomas Conklin; a daughter: Dawn Pedicone; twelve grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
