Barbara Jo Murray was born on June 7, 1936, in Natchez, Mississippi, to the late Tom and Lucille Naomi Mann Murray. She married Lawrence Draper "L.D." Nichols on Nov. 20, 1954, in Kingsville, Texas, and he preceded her in death on July 18, 2011, after 56 years together. Mrs. Nichols moved to DeBerry in 1988, from Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was also preceded in death by a son, Thomas Murray Nichols; a brother, Rex Murray; and a great-granddaughter, Ruby Elizabeth Brooks.
