John Richecky, son of John and Marie Burian Richecky, was born April 15, 1863, at Muscoda, Wis., and died January 11, 1951, at the Belleville hospital, at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 27 days.
In the year 1871 he came to Republic county with his parents and two younger sisters, The family homesteaded a 160 acre farm five miles south of Munden where he made his home for a good many years. In 1934 he moved to Cuba.
In the year 1884 on February 23 he was married to Josephine Brosh. To this union five children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Marie Womastek, Annie Kornelia, Thressia Washisheck, and Josie Lesovsky, his wife Josephine; a son, Arthur.
He is survived by four children, Josephine Stransky of Belleville, Ed of Cuba, Marie Benyshek of Belleville, Joe of Belleville, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a sister, Katy Lesovsky of Cuba.
Funeral services were Saturday, January 13, at the Presbyterian church at Cuba, conducted by the Rev. Stephen Yemm. Interment was in Tabor cemetery.
