Mrs. Geo. F. Coe was called to Oakland, Cal., last Friday, to visit the sick bed of her father, David Irwin, who is not expected to recover from an attack of the grip. The old veteran of four wars will, if he lives till the 11th of next April, be 102 years old.

Mrs. Fannie L. Coe
Mrs. Fannie L. Coe died Sunday April 5th at the home of her son, George F. Coe, in this city, in her 63rd year. Mrs. Coe had been a sufferer from rheumatism for several years and her death occurred from an acute attack of that trouble which affected her heart.
Mrs. Coe was born in Kent county, Michigan July 31, 1848. She grew to womanhood there and was married to Geo. F. Coe. In 1891 she came to the coast with her husband and for nine years resided in Marion county, Oregon. In 1900 she came to Hood River where she had since resided. Besides her husband, Mrs. Coe is survived by three daughters and two sons. The daughters are Mrs. G. E. Bowerman and Miss Eleanor Coe of Hood River and Mrs. H. M. Metcalf of Bull Run. Her son is Geo. F. Coe, who resides in this city. A large family of brothers and sisters also survive Mrs. Coe but reside in the east.
The funeral was held at the Baptist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30; the services being conducted by Rev. J. R. Hargreaves. Burial was in Idlewild cemetery.

Death of Mrs. Coe
Mrs. Fannie L. Coe, wife of George F. Coe, died Wednesday, April 5, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. E. Bowerman in the Odell section. Mrs. Coe had reached her sixty third year. She had been a sufferer from rheumatism for several years and an acute attack of the ailment affected her heart and caused her death. She was born in Kent county, Michigan, and was married there. In 1891 she accompanied her husband to Marion county, Oregon, where they resided until 1900, removing in that year to Hood River. For a short time the two have been residing in Bull Run, Or. Mrs. Coe made the visit here hoping to be improved by the change in location. In addition to her husband and Mrs. Bowerman, the deceased leaves surviving her a son and daughter, Mrs. H. Metcalf, the latter a resident of Bull Run. The son, Fred G. Coe lives in Hood River.
After funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J. R. Hargreaves at the Heights Baptist church Tuesday afternoon the body was laid to rest in the Idlewild cemetery.
