Alice Faye Washburn Roberts left this earth and walked into the arms of Jesus on June 17, 2022, as she joined her husband, Mike, and daughter, Michelle, in their eternal home. Alice was born to D.A. "Dib" and Mary Esther Walker Washburn on December 31, 1938. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church of Searcy. Alice worked as a hairdresser and teacher's aide, as well as a caregiver for children, during her younger years. Later in life, she enjoyed time spent on her computer as she emailed and connected via Facebook with friends and family in various areas of the country. She once stated that this was her lifeline and brought her great joy.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 60 years, Michael "Mike" Jackson Roberts, beloved daughter Michelle Roberts Stewart, and sister, Mary Ruth Washburn Cranford. Left to cherish her memory are her son-in-law Russ (Stacy) Stewart; grandchildren Russell (Kalyn) Stewart and Lauren Stewart of San Antonio, TX; great grandchildren Ru and Corrie-Elizabeth Stewart; brother James Washburn of Steamboat, CO, sister-in-law Vernal Lee of Austin, TX, and a host of special cousins, nieces, and nephews. Alice shared a special connection with her beloved nephew, Tom Cranford, who served as her primary caregiver over the last few years. The family would like to offer special thanks to Nickie Spiker, Cynthia Raymond, and Amber Morris of the House of Three, as well as AR Hospice, for their compassionate care.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the White County Memorial Gardens
