Judy Castillo, 85, passed away in Community North Hospital, Indianapolis on June 26, 2022. She was born in Marion on June 7, 1937 to the late Ernest B. and Thelma M. (McKinley) Craig.

She was a 1955 graduate of Marion High School and later attended Marion College. On Nov. 29, 1958 she married John Castillo, Jr. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2004. For over 25 years Judy worked for Marion Community Schools as a teacher's aid in special education at Kendall Elementary and Riverview Elementary. Judy was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church and volunteered over the years in various capacities. Judy had many interests including euchre club, playing the card game "hand and foot," going to garage sales, building puzzles and traveling throughout the United States visiting with friends and family along the way, but her trip to Jerusalem was by far her favorite destiny. She spent many winter months in Arizona and always looked forward to coming home to be near her children whom she adored. It was always with great pride that Judy would report about her children and grandchildren. Her generosity and compassion were felt by all who crossed paths with her.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Jill) Castillo, Covington, Georgia; Jackie Castillo (John Worley), Anderson; Jeff Castillo (Stephanie Tapnio), Carmel; Julie M. (Chris) Adolay, Indianapolis; sister, Ruth Guhl, Fort Wayne; brother-in-law, Richard Ladwig; sister-in-law, Delores Simpson; grandchildren, Cory Castillo, David Castillo both of Georgia; Allie Castillo, Columbus, Indiana; Chloe Tapnio, Carmel; Sarah Adolay, John Adolay, Maria Adolay, Lizzie Adolay, Mark Adolay, all of Indianapolis; great grandchild, Finnlee Castillo and her darling grand-dogs, Pebbles and Boo.

Judy is also preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Craig and Richard Craig; sister, Barbara Miller.

A funeral mass was held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 in the narthex of St. Paul Catholic Church, 1031 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana., with Fr. Daniel Gartland officiating. Burial followed immediately in Estates of Serenity, 2225 South Lincoln Blvd., Marion.

Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, Marion, Indiana was entrusted with the arrangements.
