Mr. Donnie Ray Chastain, age 67, of Rome, GA, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
Donnie was born in Floyd County, Georgia on October 2, 1954, son of the late Gene Chastain and the late Lucille Fite Chastain. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Ann McCoy, and sister-in-law, Martha Chastain. Donnie worked at Fairbanks for 11 years and then went to work for the City of Rome Street and Electrical department where he retired after 33 years of service. Donnie was a devoted husband and father. He loved his family, and he will be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years; son; brother; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at 2:00 pm at in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Rev. Corey Wright officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Monday, January 31, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, and masks are requested at both the visitation and funeral service.
