Leona was born on August 9, 1930, in Canton, Oklahoma, to Griffin Day and Thelma Bennett Day, and passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022 in Enid. As she was her parents' second oldest child and oldest daughter, she began to assist her family at a very early age by performing household tasks and caring for younger siblings. She attended school in Oakwood, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, she maintained unwavering spiritual faith. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
On December 20, 1946, Leona married Eugene A. Graham in Enid, Oklahoma. They made their home in Enid where they raised four children. Additionally, they helped care for their granddaughter, Kayla. They were married for nearly 75 years at the time of Eugene's death. Although Leona was employed in several jobs outside her home, including spending 15 years employed in the retail industry, her primary focus was her marriage and family. Loyalty to her family was a prominent and enduring personality characteristic. As she dealt with chronic illness and other losses, she was stoic and avoided dependence.
Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her parents; four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Hope Dilling and her husband, Dr. J.M. Dilling of Enid; three sons, Tim Graham and wife Wren, of Eddyville, KY; Philip Graham and wife Sandy, of Hendersonville, TN; and Tom Graham, of Enid, OK. She is also survived by five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great granddaughter. Additionally, she is survived by her sister Ruby Kelly and husband Stacey, of Oklahoma City, Ok.
