Fathers name is William Hargrove Crawford, b. 1827, Oakland City, Indiana, d. 1895, Garden City, Kansas, burial unknown.

Lilly Alice Crawford was born in Terra Haute, Indiana, May 9, 1862, and died in Eureka, Kansas, May 11, 1930, at the age of 68 years, and 2 days. She grew to womanhood in her native state.

At Owensville, Indiana on the sixth day of October, 1880, she was married to Charles Cook.

In 1884 she and her husband came to Kansas settling in the western part of Cheyenne County. Here they lived in 1899 when they moved to Butler County near Beaumont where they lived until 1903 when they moved to Eureka where she lived until her death. Mr. Cook died about five years ago leaving her with her four sons and four daughters to comfort her.

These remain to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother, Mrs. Henry Olson, Mrs. Carl Olson, Mrs. Bill Brown, Andrew Cook, Archie Cook, William Cook and Mrs. Edward Todd. These all live in and around Eureka except Mrs. Brown who lives in Alva, Okla.

In early life Mrs. Cook was a member of the Methodist Church, but upon coming to Eureka she united with the Christian Church where she held her membership at the time of her death.

These who have lived here for a number of years will kindly remember Mrs. Cook when she lived an active life. For several years her health was impaired so that she more or less shut in.
