Mrs. Edna Ross died at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Mathis Saturday Oct. 6, 1909, aged twenty-seven years.

About three years ago Edna was stricken with tuberculosis and in the hope that a change of climate might be beneficial she was taken to Roswell, N. M., where she spent the winter. She grew stronger and with strength came the longing for the old home. For a short time after her return all was well, but ere long the dread disease again made its presence felt and day by day we have watched her fade away.

Edna was possessed of a voice of more than usual compass and power and many a heart bowed down by sorrow and grief and had its sorrow lightened by its sweet tones.

Of the immediate family she leave to mourn, her husband and little son, father and mother and three sisters. The funeral services were held at the M. E. church conducted by Rev. Canfield, of [B]atavia, assisted by Rev. Otis.
