Pickens, SC - Bunk B. Hendricks, 80, of 402 Baker Street, died in an Oteen, North Carolina veterans hospital at 6 p.m. Monday after a long illness.
Lifelong resident of Pickens County, son of the late T. A. and Martha Trotter Hendricks, he was a retired carpenter, a veteran of World War I, and a member of Saluda Hill Baptist Church. His first wife was the late Mrs. Ella Mae Brown Hendricks.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sunie Masters Hendricks; nine daughters, Mrs. Lynn (Geneva) Clark of Travelers Rest, Mrs. Joe (Thelma) Yeager of Charleston, Mrs. Raymond (Jeanette) Reece, Mrs. Earl (Audrey) Stokes, Miss Evelyn Hendricks and Mrs. Frank (Bobbie) Griffin of Greenville, Mrs. Rex (Jeannie) Easterly of Ramsey, New Jersey, Mrs. David (Almedia) Simpkins of Bermuda; and Mrs. Coley (Helen) Griffin of Westminster; a son, Glenn N. Hendricks of Pickens; four sisters, Mrs. Judge Clark of Cleveland, Mrs. Ben Williams of Marietta, Mrs. W. R. McJunkin and Mrs. Thurmond Looper of Pickens; three brothers, George Hendricks of Brevard, North Carolina, J. W. Hendricks and T. M. Hendricks of Pickens, and 21 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Clayton-Dillard Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
