Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Marhevka Kokosky and was a graduate of Dunmore High School, class of 1953.
Surviving are two sons, Dr. Edward and wife, Debbie Nelson, of Midlothian, Virginia; Paul and wife, Kathy Lesnefsky, of Lockport, Ill.; daughter, Dr. Mary Lesnefsky Nicholson and husband, Daniel, of Munster, Indiana; and brother-in-law, Thomas Moran, of Moosic Lakes, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Joseph, Ann, Meg, Andrew, Danny, Adam and Anna; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Helen Tates, Joanne Moran, Mary Azzarelli, Ann Creedon and Theresa Cerny.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She worked as a manager at Spiegel (while there became a member of the Teamsters Union), and in customer service at American President Lines. She also provided loving after-school care for her local grandchildren. Her contagious smile and love of family life will be missed by all.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Albert P. O'Donnell Funeral Home, 2025 Green Ridge St., Dunmore, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. Interment, All Saints Cemetery, Hollisterville.
