Dorothea was a member of the Wellsboro Bible Church. She was a past member of the Wellsboro Moose. In addition she taught and directed Cub Master's and Den Mother's with Wellsboro, Troy and various other troops in Cub Scouts. Dorothea was a hospital volunteer and a foster grandparent. She was a member of the Mollies (Mountain Laurel Ladies), TNT's (handcraft group specializing in Christmas decorations) and she also wrote the column "Remembering" for the Wellsboro Gazette. She was employed as a nurse's aide during her life, working at various Pennsylvania hospitals and North Penn Home Health.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are five daughters, Kathleen "Kathy" Talada (Albert), Brenda "Bonnie" Badmone (Charles) all of Elmira, N.Y., Johanna "Jody" Shelmire (John), Dorothea "Dorrie" Shuster (Michael) all of Wellsboro, Alice Smith (Steve), Gassaway, W.Va.; three sons, William "Bill" Baker of Gold, Arthur "Bobby" Baker (Pam) of Fillmore, N.Y., John Baker of Gassaway, W.Va.; 29 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great- great-grandchildren; her brother, Henry J. Breuer of Mill Valley, Calif.; sister, Catherine R. Mangham (Charles) of Mineral Springs, Texas; best friends, Sis Callahan and Becky Hartman.
She was preceded in death by husband, Arthur W. Baker and good friend, Ray E. Dilly.
Memorial service will be held at the Wellsboro Bible Church on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. Memorials may be made in Dorothea's name to The Green Home, Activity Fund, 37 Central Ave., or Susquehanna Hospice, 24 Walnut St., both of Wellsboro, Pa.16901.
