Promoted to Brevet Major on 16 Jul 1865.

Mustered Out Commissary Dept Regiment U.S. Volunteers on 4 Aug 1865.

Referred to as Col but may have been a Major. First Div, Army of Kentucky.

Buried in Fairview Cemetery, Albuquerque, Bernalillo, in 1886; disinterred and shipped to NY (Greenwood) in July 1904. Died of apoplexy. Family: Judge Bell. Married. Had worked as a merchant, owning a dry goods store on Canal Street in NYC specializing in coats and cloaks, and as a coal miner.

Previously lived in NY and Gallup, NM.
