Mrs. Florence Laney, age 93, of Barnesville, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in a Griffin Healthcare Facility. Mrs. Laney was a native of Pike County, but had made her home in Barnesville for a number of years. Daughter of the late Mr. John B. Clark and the late Mrs. Annie Vaughn Clark, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charles Harold Laney, Sr. and by five brothers and five sisters. Mrs. Laney was Retired as an Inspector from the William Carter Company and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

Survivors include: 1 Daughter - Nancy Laney Craze of Mobile, AL ; 3 Sons - Charles Harold Laney, Jr. of Jackson ; Ray (& Betty Sue) Laney of Barnesville ; & Tony (& Jackie) Laney of Griffin ; 3 Sisters - Emma Connally of Barnesville ; Betty Powell of Barnesville ; & Bobbie Bankston of Barnesville ; 1 Brother - Larry Clark of Barnesville ; 6 Grandchildren ; & 13 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Florence Laney will be conducted Thursday, January 24, 2008 at 2 O' Clock in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Burk officiating. Interment will follow in Lamar Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, January 23, 2008 from 6pm until 8pm.
