Geneva 'Babe' Pierson Norman was born January 3, 1928, to Lonie Richard and Goldie (Tuttle) Pierson. She died on Monday, July 11, 2022. Geneva attended the Fargo schools where she loved basketball and played the flute in the band. She graduated in 1945 from Fargo High School. During those 12 years she missed only one (1) day of school. She was married to Albert Leroy Norman on October 29, 1945, in the Baptist Parsonage in Woodward, Oklahoma. To this union three children were born, Teresa, Mark, and Richard. Geneva was a farm wife. She did it all from working the wheat harvest, gardening, quilting, canning, and knitting. She also worked the early morning shift at the Shattuck Memorial Hospital. Her joy was the Fargo Quilting Club, the Red Hat Ladies, and the Coffee Ladies. She also had a few bowling trophies.
Geneva accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior early in her life and was baptized and became a member of the Fargo Southside Baptist Church. Later in life she married a Methodist and became a member of the Fargo United Methodist Church. Geneva moved to Oklahoma City in 2009 and attended New Hope United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Mary Martha Methodist Women Circle and the Open Forum Sunday School Class. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Norman; a sister Genevieve; grandson-in-law, Terry Wolgamott; great-grandson, Lyman Wolgamott; and a host of other family and friends. She was survived by her three children, Teresa Thomas and husband Mickey of Fargo, Oklahoma, Mark Norman and wife Sheree of Edmond, Oklahoma and Richard Norman and wife Lacricia of Oklahoma City; five granddaughters, Quen Wilczek and husband Wayne, Tracy Wolgamott, Sherri Comstock and Michael Tucker, Kimberly Davidson and husband Doug, MaKenzie Norman; five great-grandsons, Jeremy Thomas and wife Carly, Timothy Best and Stephenie, Andrew Best, Haden Comstock and wife Sierra, Jackson Wilczek and Belah, and two great granddaughters, Megan Comstock and Kali Davidson; four great-great-granddaughters, Shirey, Chazley, Kynzie, Grace and two great-great-grandsons, Isaiah and Timber; a niece, Linda Lennox of Florida; and many other relatives and friends. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, 15 July, in the chapel of Buchanan Funeral Service, Oklahoma City.
