The passing of Ada Rebecca Dorcas, wife of the late Malcolm Dorcas, formerly of Williamsburg, NB occurred on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Nashwaak Villa in Stanley, NB. Born in Williamsburg, NB on July 16, 1918 she was a daughter of the late Fred and Reta (Gullison) MacLean. Ada was a member of Hillcrest United Church and past president of the Williamsburg UCW. She was active in her church as a Sunday School teacher and played the organ at the Williamsburg United Church for many years. She was an avid quilter, enjoyed cooking and loved to crochet and knit.

Ada is survived by her grandchildren, Ronnie Dorcas (Janet) of Nashwaak Village, NB, Connie Fullarton (Kim) of Fredericton, NB, Dixie Wilson of Grand Lake, NB, Irvine Dorcas of Fredericton, NB, Cindy Dorcas of Taymouth, NB, Darrell Dorcas (Carol) of Durham, NB; 14 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Marie Dorcas; sister, Frances Porter; brother, Ross MacLean (Sadie); several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband Ada was predeceased by her sons, Fred Dorcas and Ernest Dorcas (Dorothy); granddaughter, Vickie Dorcas; grandsons, Preston and George Dorcas; sister, Mildred Hossack; brother, Walter MacLean; and special aunt, Hazel Hay.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from 12-2 pm. Following the visitation a Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel at 2 pm with Mr. Wally Ellis (DLM) officiating. Interment will be in the Williamsburg Community Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Fairlane Home and Nashwaak Villa for the care they provided to Ada. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Williamsburg Cemetery Fund or Hillcrest United Church.
