Joyce A. Christman, 71, of Eaton, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Cincinnati. Born June 3, 1932, in New Paris, she was the daughter of Robert E. and Irene (Middaugh) Jefferson. She was a 1950 graduate of Eaton High School and Reid Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, and worked as a registered nurse for several years. She had resided in the Akron area for about 35 years before moving back to Eaton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. H. Gene Christman, in 2000.

Survivors include a son, Kent (Kathy) Christman of Alpharetta, Ga.; a daughter; Kimberlee (Mike) Kleshock of Cincinnati; three granddaughters, Jennifer, Amanda and Sara Christman; her mother, Irene Jefferson of Eaton; a sister, Saundra (Phil) Zimmerman of Eaton; and a brother, Robert (Jewel) Jefferson of LaMesa, Texas.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 9, at Lindloff-Zimmerman Funeral Home, West Alexandria, with Dr. Pat Murray officiating. Burial was in Mound Hill Union Cemetery, Eaton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Living Word Church, Dayton, or to Trinity Lutheran Church, Lewisburg.
