In 1850, Jacob, in Jasper Co., MO, was 1 yo.
In 1860, Jacob, in Caldwell, Burleson Co., TX, was 10 yo.
In 1870, Jacob, still in Caldwell, was 21 yo.

Jacob m. Martha Ellen Haddox on 29 Sep 1872 in Burleson Co., TX.
Martha's parents were Thomas Jefferson Haddox 1817 - 1872 and Mary H. (King) Haddox 1818 - 1872.

In 1880, Jake, blacksmith, and Ellen, and daughters Hollie 3 and Bessie 10/12, were in Bell Co., TX. Jake was 31 yo.

The 1900 census has Jacob, blacksmith, and Martha in Davilla, Milam Co., TX. Martha is reported as having had 9 kids/6 living.

The 1969 obituary for Jacob's son, Jacob Edward "Jake" Walton, says, "Walton, who resided in Hermleigh, was a native of Milam. He moved to this area [Scurry Co., TX] in 1914." Perhaps Jacob/Martha joined the migration to Scurry Co.?

And then Jacob and Martha, so far as I know, disappear from the record until Jacob's death in 1928. His death certificate says that he was buried in Ranger, Eastland Co., TX, but does not specify the cemetery. He was widowed, so Martha must have died sometime between the 1900 census and Jacob's death in 1928. I find neither Jacob nor Martha in the 1910 census.
