1st RI Cav, Company A, F. Our Great-Great Grandfather. POW at Middleburg VA 06/18/1863. At Libby and Belle Isle Prisons in Richmond, and was paroled before Lincoln stopped the parole exchange. Saw action through the entire course of the war and was wounded twice. Part of Governor William Sprague's mission to recover the remains of our 5th cousin Sullivan Ballou.

Information is from copy of pension application and Frederic Dennison's book Sabres and Spurs, both in the personal collection of our family.
