Bob was one of the middle children in his family and grew up in Polk County.
On September 4, 1955 he wed Kay Looney. They raised their family on Bob's family farm in Tin Town. Bob loved horses and broke many in his younger years. He would often recall the events of breaking those horses with his buddies and let's just say he could've written a book on what not to do. Anyone who had part in helping him or knew Bob well, knew he had a busy guardian angel. He had a passion for farming and found great joy on a tractor. His love of the outdoors led to a love to hunt. He loved spending time outdoors in a tree stand or ground blind. He made many a trip out west to hunt antelope and mule deer and thoroughly enjoyed his time there.
Bob hauled freight for McCurry's and Toombs and hauled milk in cream cans while milking cows himself. He drove a semi for Beaufort Transfer Company retiring with 33 years of service in 1996. Once retired, he and Kay would travel when they could. He most loved to stand back and admire a freshly baled field of square bales.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Kay Skidmore; daughter, LaDena Skidmore (Rodrigo), son, Mark (Leslie) Skidmore; grandkids, Beau (Gabby) Laughlin, Chas (Jessica) Laughlin, MacKenzie (Caleb) Laughlin, Rachel (Tyler) Skidmore and Jake Skidmore; two great grandkids, Theo and Liza; sister, Rosalea Eastburn; brother, Larry Dean (Teresa) Skidmore; brother-in-law, Larry Predmore; and sister-in-law, Janet (Bruce) Zahner.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Nola; sister, Wanda Predmore; and brother-in-law, Wayne Eastburn.
Burial Monday, July 11, 2022, at Olive Freewill cemetery, Dallas county, MO.
