Michael Anthony Edwards, 54, of Madrid, IA, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2022.

Michael was born July 21, 1967, in Des Moines, IA to Gary and Kathleen (Carroll) Edwards. He attended the Madrid Schools and was a 1985 graduate of Madrid High School.

He lived his whole life in Madrid.

On July 26, 2002, he was united in marriage to Desiree Fleming Grams in Ottumwa, IA.

In November of 1986, he began working for the United States Postal Service, retiring on September 30, 2021.

Mike's life was his children and grandchildren and Dee the love of his life. He was an Iowa State University as well as a Madrid Tigers fan. He enjoyed joking around, playing in the snow with Jolena and the grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and mother-in-law.

Visitation will be 10:00 am to 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at the Sundberg-Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in Madrid with Graveside Services following at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Madrid.

To honor Mike's birthday on July 21st, one of his last wishes was for people to be kind to each other and extend a random act of kindness.
