Eva Sheckler, 86, of Winterset, formerly of Nora
Springs, died Wednesday (Oct. 8, 1997) at the Community Care Center,
Winterset.

Funeral services will be held today at the First United Methodist Church,
Nora Springs, with Pastor Deborah Stowers and Pastor Richard Pippert
officiating. Burial will be in the Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church, Nora Springs,
in her memory.

Eva Sheckler was born July 9, 1911, in Stacyville, Iowa, to Peter and
Amanda (Arends) Adams.

She was united in marriage to Howard Sheckler on Jan. 19, 1936, in
Nora Springs. Howard died July 6, 1970. She spent seven years in
Winterset; having spent the majority of her life in Nora Springs,
growing up in Stacyville and Osage.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Nora Springs.

She is survived by her daughter, Marjean Parker and her husband, Loren,
of Winterset; two grandsons, Jim Parker of Lakeville, Minn., and Jerry
Parker of Eagan, Minn.; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Amanda Adams; her
husband, Howard; six brothers; and two sisters.

The Collins Funeral Home, 505 East Court, Winterset, Iowa, is in charge
of arrangements.
