Renee Black Pincock, 81, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 2, 2022, in her home, surrounded by family after a recent cancer diagnosis.
Renee was born December 31, 1940, in Blanding, Utah, the fourth of six children born to Oren Frost and Lucile Bailey Black. Her dad always called her "Sweetie Pie" and she always called him "Daddy." She loved her childhood in Blanding.
She attended Brigham Young University, completing her bachelor's degree in elementary education. During her junior year she met Richard Dean Pincock and they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 6, 1963. After a few years in Arizona and Washington, they settled in Blanding to raise their children.
Renee loved her community and church and served whenever and wherever needed. She was an accomplished pianist and piano teacher and shared her love of music with others. Many can attribute their love of music and ability to play the piano to Renee and her teaching. She was always willing to accompany on the piano and took great care in preparing music to fit the spirit of the event. Many in town have experienced her love given through warm loaves of bread or a hot meal delivered at the perfect time.
The love and support of family was of supreme importance to Renee, and she made great efforts to plan events that would unite her family and give them enjoyable experiences and memories together. She felt the spirit of the church history sites and made sure each of her grandchildren had the opportunity to go to those places and feel the Spirit there.
She served faithfully in many church callings, with her most memorable being matron of the Monticello temple. She treasured the friendships she made there. She found great joy and peace in being in the temple alongside her husband every day and witnessing the miracles and love of the Lord available to all who came.
Above all, she prioritized her husband and children. We have been blessed by her total devotion and constant concern for our well-being. She had complete faith in our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness.
She is survived by her husband, Richard, children, Lori (Jeff) Anderson, Clint (Ranae) Pincock, Karla (Mario) Durrant, Peggy (Mike) Hankins, Alan (Jessica) Pincock, and Russell (Rebecca) Pincock, and siblings Pete (Charlotte) Black, Oaine Foy and Ileene Black (sister-in-law). She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ramon Black and Arvid Black.
Funeral services will be at noon on Friday, July 8, 2022, in the Blanding North Chapel. A viewing will be held that same morning from 9:30-11:30 at San Juan Mortuary. A virtual service option is available through the San Juan Mortuary website linked to the online obituary. Interment following the funeral at the Blanding City Cemetery.
