Cora Red Buffalo Dies
Cora Red Buffalo, 55, well known Indian woman died at her home at the south
edge of town Sunday morning, Feb. 18 after an illness of about two months.
Funeral services were held at the Cedar Creek Indian church Monday by Big Tree
assisted by Linnn Pauahty. Burial was made in the Samone Indian cemetery west
of Carnegie.
A full blood Kiowa, Cora was born and lived all her life near Carnegie. She
was a follower of old tribal life and customs and was one of the leading women
dancers in the tribe. She is survived by her husband, Joe Davis, (White
Eagle), her son, Allie Red Buffalo, and her mother, Mrs. Smoky.
