According to "The History of Westmoreland County (PA): William George Washington Goodlin received a good education in the common school in Hempfield Township and farmed with his father until 1886 when he was appointed tip-staff in the Westmoreland district court. during 1896 he removed to Greensburg and in the spring of 1905 to his present house at No. 219 West Third Street. he married March 24, 1870, Sevilla T., daughter of Philip and Margaret Miller Wentzel of Millersdale, Pennsylvania. William Goodlin and his wife, Sevilla Wentzel Goodlin are buried in Harrold's Union Cemetery PA
