Robert, or Bob as he liked to be called was a 1955 graduate of Hershey High School and served in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1959. He was a retired employee of Service America Corporation.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather , and great grandfather. He left a legacy to many about working hard for what you want and constantly learning new things. He had varied interests including riding motorcycles, flying (he had his pilots license), coordinating, formatting and playing music for Ice Skating competitions, Music (classical and country, photography, computers, and car racing. He and his wife took many vacations and cruises and he put his photography skills to work capturing all that they encountered. And unlike many of his generation, when computers came out he dove in and became proficient instead of shying away.
Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rufine (Feenie) Martin Hocker; daughters Donna (Ted) Mandes, Robin (David) Hayes, Teresa (Scott) Zeigler; sons Robert (Michelle) Hocker, Jr., and Scott (Stephanie) Hocker. He was loved by 6 Grandchildren who knew him as Grandaddy, Alex Mandes, Christopher Hayes, Dan Mandes, Leigha Matthews, Lindsey Hayes, and Jessica Runkel; and by 11 great grandchildren. He was loved and will be greatly missed.
Interment with military honors will be private in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contribution be made to American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
