Mr. George Thomas Gilbert, of Cooptown, was suddenly taken ill with pneumonia on Dec. 11th, 1884, and died on the following Wednesday morning, 17th, at 4 o’clock. He was in the 74th year of his age. A wife and eight children survive him, of which George E. Gilbert, Isaac M. Gilbert, J. Calvin Gilbert and Mrs. James N. Ayres reside in Harford County; Mrs. George J. Reese, Mrs. George R. Stilltz and Albert M. Gilbert in Baltimore City, and Mrs. Carver Willis in Texas. He was buried at the Baptist Church Cemetery near Pleasantville, Rev. J. M. Marsh officiating. The following friends acted as pall-bearers: Wm. Durham, John T. Ayres, Leonard Onion, Samuel Onion, Henry Young and Henry Lytle. Mr. E.
