Her Life
Carmen was born to Teresa Connie Lindsey and Anthony John Carev on April 23rd, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois. Carmen grew up in the City of Chicago and the Chicagoland area before eventually moving to Wheaton, IL and Santa Monica, CA. She eventually moved back to the Chicagoland area before settling in New Jersey.

In New Jersey Carmen worked for L'Oreal Corporation as an Executive Assistant. She enjoyed the cosmetics industry and took a personal interest in makeup and fragrances. She took an interest in cosmetology as well and studied nail care in order to help her friend who owned a Salon. Carmen liked to keep busy and took part time jobs in women's fashion at department stores on nights and weekends. When living in New Jersey she enjoyed her friends, her Doberman Pinscher, Rommel and loved visiting the beautiful beaches on the Southern New Jersey coast. From time to time she would visit New York City to have a wonderful dinner and take in a Broadway show.

She eventually moved back to Illinois from New Jersey to be closer to family. She lived in Richmond and Lake Geneva before taking a job as a caregiver in Barrington, IL. Eventually Carmen retired and moved back to Richmond, IL, making many friends at the Senior Living Residences where she lived. In Richmond she had the company of her pet Dachshund, Oliver.

Carmen loved to travel and was able to venture to France, Bermuda, enjoyed many Caribbean cruises, wintered in the Northeast Ski Resorts and Crested Butte, Colorado. She traveled to many US states, big cities and loved her trip to New Orleans. She was able to take many trips to California and spent time on the California Coast, touring San Francisco, Big Sur, Southern California and Lake Tahoe. Where she loved to go most of all was the Hawaiian Islands - her favorite islands were Maui and Kauai. She got to experience a Las Vegas vacation late last year and that was her final adventure.

Carmen enjoyed interior decorating, shopping, baking, holidays and watching her favorite television shows, the Evening News with Brian Williams and Lester Holt and anything on HGTV. Her passion was reading. On a cold day you would find her drinking her morning coffee, cozy in bed, with a book in her hand. She loved nothing more than a cup of warm tea, stew on the stove while reading the latest legal thriller that topped the best sellers list. She could read a book a day.

Carmen leaves behind her son Christian, her daughter-in-law Amy, her grandchildren Isabella and Donovan, her son Nicholas and his partner Sharon. She will be missed by her sisters and brother, nieces and nephews. In accordance with Carmen's wishes she will make one final trip to the Hawaiian Islands later this year where a final memorial will be held and she will be laid to rest.
