Mathilda Row Taylor was the daughter of Mark Taylor and Margaret Amyx. She married William Anderson Dec. 13, 1828, in Botetourt Co., Virginia. By 1840, they had moved to Xenia, Greene Co., Ohio. Their known children were Mary, John L., Frank, Nancy, William, and Alice Taylor, and probably several others born 1829-1840. William Anderson died in 1849, in a cholera epidemic. "Margaret Anderson" was buried the same day as William; probably a daughter. Mathilda remained in Ohio for the following twenty years, then moved to Columbus, Indiana, in the early 1870s.

Bartholomew Co., Indiana civil death record is recorded in Book HD1, p. 47

Mrs. Anderson died at the home of her son, ex-policeman Anderson, on Friday. She was quite aged and had been troubled with asthma for years. She arose in the morning and dressed her self as usual, but was prostrated shortly afterward, dying suddenly. Her funeral services occurred yesterday evening at five o'clock.
